'Utopian Descent' is a visual storytelling project that navigates the intersection between personal identity, authenticity, and deepfake technology. Using a combination of static and animated media, the project illustrates the distortion and loss of personhood that could arise as AI-powered deepfake technology becomes increasingly accessible. 'Utopian Descent' seeks to encourage a sober reflection on the future of personal identity within the context of deepfakes and to highlight the need for legislation that protects our identities.
